The Guild of Canadian Weavers was established in 1947. The main objective was to raise technical, mechanical and artistic standards of hand weaving among Canadian weavers. Today these values are still maintained, but for me it is so much more. The GCW is a place for weavers of every generation to join together and thread the past with the future through the stories we share and the cloth we weave.

In 2012 I joined the guild to be part of our national weaving community. I soon began volunteering as Editor for their quarterly publication The Bulletin. In 2017 I was elected as Vice President and now in 2018 I will move up to President.

It is a great honour to be working with the guild in this capacity.
