Weaving 101 - Manitoulin Island, ON

For those who want to dust their loom off, or get started, this is an intensive introduction to handweaving.  In this course you will learn how to prepare calculations for a project, and how to prepare your loom with that project.  We will spend time getting comfortable with the loom and with weaving.  The objective is for you to walk away knowing how to warp a loom, and how to weave.

Intermediate levels are available for those wanting to understand draft overviews and project planning.

Painting With Twills: 3 Day Workshop - Elliot Lake Summer Retreat

Advance your skills in twills, using colour!  The course objective is to push your twills through the use of colour, while developing proper technique to pull it off flawlessly.

In a 3-day hands on workshop we will talk all about twills and review their full spectrum of potential.  The course will explore how colour can be used to manipulate our twills, giving them new breadth and added depth.  We will also cover how to use multiple shuttles, and still maintain a clean selvedge.
