So excited to be showing my work at the Blickfang Designmesse at the MAK in Vienna, Austria.
This project was a terrific experience as I dedicated many hours to the in-depth development of colour samples produced entirely with plant and natural dyes.
It’s been a long time coming and I’m so excited to finally be able to introduce recycled cotton into my collections.
Excited to be one of the artist featured in the Globe & Mail this weekend. Article by Lindsay Jones.
Earlier this year I was awarded the Ontario Arts Council, Northern Arts Grant, to pursue an In-Depth Study Of Structure and Design For Handwoven Textiles. A very big thank you to the OAC for making this project possible. I am thrilled to bring this knowledge back to my community on Manitoulin Island.

The Guild of Canadian Weavers was established in 1947. The main objective was to raise technical, mechanical and artistic standards of hand weaving among Canadian weavers. Today these values are still maintained, but for me it is so much more. The GCW is a place for weavers of every generation to join together and thread the past with the future through the stories we share and the cloth we weave.
Complexities in Cloth, an exhibition about the intricacies of handweaving, received Toronto Design Festival’s Jurors Choice Award for 2018.
Complexities & Cloth looks at the detailed process involved in crafting woven textiles, while opening a dialogue with the fabrics of our time.
Over the two day hands-on workshop we will cover all of the preliminaries to start you on your colour journey. Together we will discuss the mysteries about plants & the truths about their colour.
Blue Heron was awarded for Best in Craftsmanship at the Carnegie Craft Gallery Exhibition.
Journey of a Woven Thread takes you along the path of a weaver. The show features original pieces, alongside Dani's current body of work where she explores geometry, colour and the crafting of optical effects in handwoven textiles.
For these pieces a seven colour gradient is used to explore value and vibrancy interlacing woven threads
I sequenced my threading in accordance to the triangle numbers: 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28..... And in doing so forms a pattern of perfect order.
Plant based gift set. So excited about this collaboration with Danielle Bourgault R.H. (OHA) Registered Herbalist. To complement Danielle’s gorgeous plant based products is a handwoven cloth made from organic cotton and plant dyes.
